Gower has a tremendous amount to offer from its rugged coastline, miles of sandy beaches, high lime stone cliffs and secluded coves. The famous ‘Worms Head’ jutting out into the Bristol Channel offering the most spectacular sunset locations in the UK. Apart from the astonishing coastline Gower also has beautiful woodlands and vast tracts of moorland which offers natural habitat to diverse flora and fauna. Gower offers a wealth of walks for both the amble strollers to the more avid ramblers. The beaches offer a wealth of water sports with surfing being the most popular. Ripnrock provides a range of activities – but these are not for the faint hearted!
In 1956, Gower became the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For those interested in history, Gower has plenty to offer with numerous castles, churches, landmarks and caves. Most famously, In 1823 Paviland cave yielded an Upper Paleolithic-era human male skeleton which was the first human fossil to be found anywhere in the world.
